GMP appeared to have been warming up since Saturday night
as Stingers
arrived one by one to GMP's ground. Stingers were nervous as Gwen
had had
2 poos and I had come on my period washing my wok!!! I am sick of
putting
plasters on my nipples to avoid veiwing from all the spectators, roll
on
summer!
The game started very badly for the Stingers, the determination of
the GMP side was obvious from kick off. Within minutes Scooby passed
back to me and I scuffed the ball and it went straight to a GMP player
who took it past me and scored. I didn't feel settled from the off
and our concentration just wasn't on the game. GMP scored a second
and a third with Stingers pulling a goal back with a good goal from
a penalty from Eve. Half time couldn't have come quickly enough and
coach gave us an honest evaluation of a very poor first half. Stingers
have an admirable way of rallying themselves together now and even
after my mistake it feels good to be part of a team.
The second half started off much better from the Stingers and GMP
looked like they had run out of energy. Stingers upped the tempo and
started to create countless chances. 2 great goals again from Maxine
helped build our confidence followed by a goal from Eve, Jackie Ryan
finished GMP off with a stunning header from Scooby's corner. Credit
should be taken from a game which we knew would be hard but we worked
together as a team and it paid off. Stingers face Darwin in the semi
final on Sunday, ( goodness knows what our nerves are going to make
us do Sunday morning!!!) Jane Laycock |

Stingers faced Glossop at home on a freezing Sunday with
a churned up pitch that put Chelsea's to shame. Stingers started positively
again with a stunning first goal from Jackie Ryan. The passing between
the Stingers once again was a joy to watch even though my eyeballs
were freezing over. Eve scored a hat-trick once again and was substituted
in the second half, I think being substituted affects Eve's veneers
as she lost yet another tucking into a sandwich after the game! Stingers
got a free kick which Max took extremely well and it went straight
into the back of the net (isn't it amazing what effect poppers do
to a lesbian in a dress)...Glossop didn't pose any kind of threat
and I practised my dancing on ice moves whilst waiting for some action...
Scooby wrapped things up with a brilliant volley in the second half
which sealed another great victory for the Yellows. Stingers face
GMP away on Sunday which is always tough and they have even taken
a couple of days off after to celebrate a supposed victory against
the MIGHTY Yellows.....we shall see..... Jane Laycock |

I would just like to thank Max for her match reports in my
abscence, I am
surprised that as she eats so much processed food and Pringles enables
somebody to have an attention span long enough to provide detailed
reports.
Stingers travelled to Southport (EVENTUALLY) after 5 pit stops at
the services. The Southport pitch was quite bobbly but there was an
air of confidence about the Stingers in that our belief as we start
every game is that we can actually get results. The Southport side
seemed quiet and the game began at a high tempo. Something must have
gone on in the lakes with Rachael as she was on fire with an amazing
hatrick and a couple of misses. The wing play was good and Jinny lost
her player every time to get the ball into the box. Polly fresh from
the NHS was quick and attacked the ball and scored in the 34th minute,
I think her MMR jab had kicked in. Southport pulled a goal back but
as the game progressed just had no spark.
The passing from the Stingers at times was smooth and a joy to watch,
our confidence built and Eve went on to add to the score sheet. The
ref was ok but there was an awful lot of offside calls which became
frustrating, but the Stingers showed persevarance and it paid off
in the end. Jinny (who also went to the lakes.....hmmm) produced 2
goals also that were great. The second half was sheer Stinger dominance
and the result clearly shows that our game has come along way.
