Match report
As requested last night in Iguana, the match report in
the style of a
Martin Luther King speech:
I have a dream...........that the Stingers would beat GMP 8-0.
Five years ago the Stingers were miles away from signing the Emancipation
Proclamation. This momentous decree of signing great new players
was a
beacon of light of hope to the future of Manchester Stingers.
It came as a
joyous moment when in the first 5 minutes Eve scored a wonderful
goal after
a great goal kick from Jane. To end the captivity of GMP,
Eve went on to
demolish the GMP defence with a further 4 goals. Crippled
by the manacles
of the Stingers team GMP conceded another goal which was excellently
timed
and struck by Nic. In the vast ocean of defeat GMP posed no
threat to the
Stingers even with a goal keeper change. Stingers yesterday
were the
architects of a magnificent display of defending, midfield and forward
play. The Stingers are rising from the valley of the league
segregation
into the sunlit path of great footballing times. It would
be fatal for
teams to overlook our ability all over the pitch.
I am not unmindful of the Stingers supporters week in week out,
fresh from
the narrow cells Janette has been doing the line through the storms
of
football know how.
I have a dream that one day the Stingers will be the best team in
the
league, and on this day will we all sing with Gods children, Jews,
Protestants and Catholics (and any other religion I have missed)
that the
Stingers will be known in every hamlet, city and suburb.

Lisa doesn't know what she is missing, isn't it amazing how well
we are
doing now she has decided to bless Holland with her telescope. |

Match report
The Stingers arrived at Glossop knowing that they
had a couple of close
scoring games, so didn't want to underestimate them at all.
Stingers started off once again very confidently with Eve scoring
a great
goal within minutes. Stingers were passing really well but I think
we need to
get into the habit of switching the ball whenever we can. At times
our
passing was really good to watch from where I was leaning against
my post
or talking to Nic. Stingers completely dominated the first half
with Eve
scoring a penalty and nearly snapping the poor keepers hand. Eve
got
another goal, Maxine also scored a cracker with Scouse adding to
the tally.
Unfortunately I don't know when the goals were scored as I wasn't
concentrating. Midfield played really well with Nic playing exceptionally
well on the right wing. Eve was subbed for my Ex girlfriend Polly
along
with Gwen. Liz and Helen played well when they came on. Defensively
Stingers weren't tested at all even though Shelley managed to fondle
the
ball again, (please get your eyes done Shelley!!). Well done Stingers,
we
are playing really well and have a tough game next week against
GMP.

Match report
Our games against Frodsham have always been interesting.
The Stingers started the game in a very upbeat way. Eve scored
with just a few minutes gone which gave our confidence a great boost.
I think she was trying to get the game over with to get her teeth
into my buffet, but we will discuss food later. We scored
again and to be honest Frodsham looked shell shocked as their was
more shape to a low fat yoghurt than their football. On occasions
Eve was was still trying to find Lisa through the clouds again and
after about half an hour Frodsham began to fight back and they scored
a good goal which left me chewing the grass. In the second half
after another inspirational team talk by the coach we came out and
Maxine scored after some nice passing by the Stingers. At one point
of the game our play turned very scrappy with no consistency at
all. Frodsham scored from a corner but we fought back
and Maxine scored again. In the end Eve got her hatrick and the
Stingers won 5-2. The passing has got a lot better for the
Stingers and we are reaping the rewards of this. Overall the
past few games has shown that we can do some excellent passing and
score great goals. We need to work on maintaining our shape
at all times but I am sure with some extra work we can put this
right.
We must of run rings around Frodsham as they were all very hungry
and ate most of the buffet. The Spring Onions (which were
from M and S) weren't touched but the cherry tomatoes were passed
around with great excitement. Well done Stingers and let's hope
next week proves another win..

As the new match reporter I would like to welcome you all
to my weekly insight into a Stingers' match. People haven't got much
confidence in my ability to write but rest assured I am not as stupid
as I look.
Deans had drawn with Leigh 5-5 but that didn't deter the mighty Stingers.
The first half was very messy with the Stingers finding it hard to
find shape and consistency. Shelly did a pass back to me that made
us both look like Laurel and Hardy but fortunately it went slightly
wide. Just on the stroke of half time Eve got a penalty and scored
so that gave us confidence going into the second half. The Stingers
were a different team after our team talk from the coach. Maxine scored
2 great goals that were a result of brilliant passing from the Stingers.
We got another penalty in the second half which Eve skied (I think
she was looking for Lisa's telescope).
Towards the end there were countless chances and it was a joy to watch
the game from my area. The Deans got a late corner and I had to produce
one of the best saves of my career. Overall a satisfying result for
the Stingers and proof that we can play good football. Jane
