Match Report
On a wet Sunday with key players missing Stingers travelled to Airbus
slightly nervous and knowing that Airbus were doing well and had new
players. Stingers had a feeling after 10 minutes that it wasn't going to be our day.

The rain came as soon as the whistle blew and Airbus were playing
the ball over the top of our defenders which needed me to basically
play in the back 4. The pitch was terrible with my goal mouth being
more like a gravel pit than a football pitch. Stingers missed a great
opportunity when I did a goal kick and it went straight to Irish Emma
who was obviously blinded by her curls as she kicked it straight at the
keeper. I think if we would have got that early goal it would have helped
build our confidence. Stingers played some good football in patches but
overall it was poor. Airbus scored from a free kick and again after they
got past our defenders. Stingers went into ht frustrated because the score
could quite easily been the other way round. Second half was equally as
frustrating, Airbus just stuck to their game and scored 2 more goals that
could have been prevented. Max came on (fresh from x factor and not
federation), Gems and Aisha also, but Stingers couldn't get back into the
game at all. The referees decisions didn't seem to go our way, it just wasn't
to be our day. Stingers need to learn that against a team like that we
need to get the shots on goal because our outfield play wasn't good
enough and we just didn't take our chances.

Stingers face Buxton at home on Sunday so hopefully a return to form is on
the cards for the yellows.
