Match report
It would be easier for a neutral to descibe this game as "more an autopsy than a football match", but we stingers prefer to remain upbeat. The quality and skill of the Burnley side frankly overwhelmed the yellows at times, and when the Stingers did get the ball up the pitch there were few options for the drifting strikers. There were glimmers of hope but
maybe the thought of imminent international stardom in sports' commercials weighed too heavily on the Stingers' minds. Bring on next week.

Match report
Fielding a full team against Bolton Wanderers was thankfully no problem for the Stingers, who had a strong team and three substitutes. Bolton dominated the first couple of minutes, but when the yellows gained possesion they kept it well and put Bolton under pressure. As is so often the way however, the visitors went a goal up against the run of play and this caused the Stingers to mount a strong counter-attack. The yellows kept the play near the Bolton goal for ten minutes and had a string of corners but none were converted. Unfortunately, the visitors then scored a second goal on the break, although there were many protests from the Stingers defence that no less than two players were offside.

The yellows continued to counter-attack however, and in the 32nd minute Stingers were rewarded when a string of excellent passes ended at the feet of Rachael Taylor, who ran past a defender up the wing and then crossed it in to the feet of Lisa, who sent the ball cleanly past the keeper. The second half began with more chances in the early stages, including a corner headed just over the bar. Bolton struck for a third time after 55 minutes and the game felt beyond the stingers. Three substitutions were made but the score remained the same, with another defeat for the yellows.
