| Match report The Stingers suffered a resounding defeat today, with the long ball providing the GMP strikers with many scoring opportunities. Despite a determined performance by Anne in goal with many good saves, six of those chances were converted by a single striker. An own goal put the tally at seven. At the other end there were chances for Jinny and Lisa but it was not a yellow day. Final score 8-0. |

| Match report The game began apace with an early goal for Leigh RMI within the first ten minutes, but Stingers quickly responded in the shape of a wicked strike from Jane, levelling the scores. Leigh then struck back with a cruel lob, but Stingers came back yet again with Karen sending the ball beyond the visitor's keeper after a fantastic team build-up making the scores 2-2. The goalfest continued with two more goals from Leigh, but shortly before the half-time whistle Stingers were awarded a penalty for a foul in the box, leaving Jane the task of coverting. She rose to that task, blasting the ball cleanly into the bottom corner of the net making it 3-5 at half-time. The second half was equally competitive but after Leigh scored their 6th goal the Yellows were unable to get the game back. With ten minutes to go, Jane's cross was deflected into the Leigh net from the head of a defender but that is how the scores remained at the final whistle; 4-6. |

| The unexpected return of summer greeted the Stingers' first league game of the season, making the conditions hot and uncomfortable for the teams at the Whalley Range ground. The Stingers got off to an attacking start, with many good chances being blocked by the Gunners keeper. Stingers retained possesion for the majority of the game, but in an inspired 15-minute spell the Gunners broke through and scored a trio of goals in quick succession. Not discouraged, the yellows held their offensive stance and continued to take the game to the Gunners. This tactic was rewarded with a series of corner kicks and finally a goal, sent into the bottom corner of the net by Lisa and delivered by Rachel (scouse). The second half provided yet more chances for the Stingers, but the ball seemed unwilling to aquaint itself with the Greyhound Gunners' net. Overall, a good performance from Manchester Stingers and an undeserved scoreline. | |||||||||||||||||||
